Here’s what Colorado homeowners should know about the coverage, its exclusions, and the difference between condensation between the panes and moisture on a glass surface.

What Does the New Windows for America Vinylmax Warranty Cover?

New Windows for America’s warranty covers qualifying manufacturing defects for the lifetime of your windows. Coverage includes:

• Manufacturing defects in covered window materials or components
• Insulated glass seal failure, which may cause fogging or moisture between the panes
• Parts and labor for repairs related to covered defects
• Transferability to a future homeowner, subject to the applicable warranty terms

The Vinylmax manufacturer warranty is separate and has its own terms, which may vary by window component. Ask New Windows for America to explain the coverage that applies to your purchase and provide the applicable written warranty.

Is Condensation Covered?

Condensation between the panes of glass is covered under the lifetime window warranty. Moisture or fogging trapped between the panes can indicate a problem with the sealed glass unit.

Condensation on a glass surface is different. Moisture on the room-facing side of a window can occur when indoor air contains excess moisture and contacts cooler glass. Recurring condensation on the room-facing glass can be a sign that indoor humidity should be addressed. Excess moisture can contribute to mold and other moisture problems in a home.

Condensation on the outdoor-facing side can form under certain weather conditions, such as when the outside glass becomes cooler than the surrounding air. This does not necessarily indicate excessive indoor humidity.

What Isn’t Covered?

Like any window warranty, the Vinylmax warranty has exclusions. The supplied warranty information excludes:

• Natural disasters and other acts of God
• Normal wear and tear on screens
• Screen damage caused by accidents or abuse
• Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or improper repairs
• Condensation on a glass surface caused by moisture conditions in the home

For exact coverage, review the written warranty provided for your project. Coverage may depend on the product, the issue, and the applicable warranty terms.
