Do replacement windows help with Northern Colorado winds?

Yes. Fort Collins experiences significant wind loads. Modern windows with reinforced sashes and tight perimeter sealing drastically reduce air leakage and rattling compared to builder-grade units.

Can you help with window replacement in Old Town Fort Collins?

Yes. We offer wood-clad and architectural windows that meet historic preservation standards while delivering modern energy efficiency. We also handle the specific permitting required for historic districts.

Can you install windows during a Fort Collins winter?

Absolutely. We replace windows year-round using a 'one-out, one-in' containment method to minimize heat loss and keep your home protected during the process.

Which siding stands up best to local hail storms?

We highly recommend Fiber Cement (James Hardie) or Engineered Wood (LP SmartSide) for Fort Collins homes. These materials resist impact and hold paint longer than vinyl, offering superior protection against hail.

Do I need a permit for window replacement in Fort Collins?

Yes, the City of Fort Collins usually requires permits for window replacement to ensure energy code compliance. We handle the permitting process and inspections for you.

Built for Foothill Weather.

In Fort Collins, your home has to handle bright high-altitude sun, sudden cold snaps, and storm-season hail—often in the same week. Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Windows for America was a great company to work with. If you haven't experienced a window sales event in your home, get ready - window salesmen are like used car salesmen on steroids. However, from that point on, the company was fantastic. My wife had some anxiety about letting people into our house for two weeks during the installation process, but both installers, Jeff and Aaron, were true craftsmen and gentlemen. They never left an opening unfinished and installed all windows before they went to lunch or even took a break. Additionally, they cleaned up after themselves each day. I never found a piece of aluminum or a screw left behind.

We had over 30 Edison windows installed, and they are beautiful. Although there was a miscommunication over some patio windows, Matt and the office staff were able to provide a very fair solution. These guys took great care of our home. I highly recommend New Windows for America.

Additionally, we live on a golf course and lost a casement window during a high school tournament. Within 4 weeks, Sheila ordered the replacement window and Jeremiah had it installed. Thanks for your amazing service

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Three months ago, we replaced 23 windows. The salesman explained the process thoroughly in a way that was easy to understand. The windows were installed without marking or damaging any of our trim! Two days ago, our furnace needed repair and we were without heat for over 12 hours. It just happened to be on a day where the outside temperature fell to 34°. Even though we went overnight with no heat, it was 60° in our home the next morning, due to the great quality of the windows! And did I mention that they look beautiful as well!!!

Common Questions from Fort Collins Homeowners

Renovating your home’s exterior in Colorado comes with unique challenges. Here are honest answers to the questions we hear most often.

Absolutely. We replace windows year-round. In the colder months, our crews use a “one-out, one-in” method, closing off the room being worked on to minimize heat loss. We don’t leave your home exposed. In fact, replacing drafty windows in winter provides immediate relief from heating bills.

It is not uncommon to find hidden water damage once old windows are removed. Our installation teams are equipped to handle minor framing repairs on the spot. If we discover significant rot, we stop, show you the issue immediately, and explain the necessary repairs to ensure your new windows have a solid, rot-free foundation. We never cover up a problem.

We treat your home with respect. Our crews use drop cloths to protect your floors and furniture, and we vacuum the work area thoroughly after each window is installed. We also haul away your old windows and all debris, leaving your home cleaner than we found it.

Most residential projects are completed in 1 to 2 days. An experienced crew can typically install 10-15 windows per day. We will give you a specific timeline during your consultation so you can plan your schedule accordingly.

For many Fort Collins homes, yes. While high-quality double-pane windows are a massive upgrade over builder-grade glass, Triple-Pane offers superior noise reduction (great near busy corridors) and maximum insulation against sub-zero nights. Because we offer factory-direct pricing, you can often upgrade to Triple-Pane for the price competitors charge for Double-Pane.

In most Fort Collins municipalities, a permit is required, especially if we are altering the size of the opening (e.g., meeting egress codes in basements). We handle all city permitting for you. Regarding your HOA: while we cannot sign for you, we provide all the specs and brochures you need to get fast architectural committee approval.

While traditional vinyl is cost-effective, it can crack during severe hail storms. We highly recommend Fiber Cement (James Hardie) or Engineered Wood (LP SmartSide) for Colorado homes. These materials are engineered to resist impact, protecting your home’s structure better than standard vinyl or aluminum.

Modern entry doors are miles ahead of older wood doors. Our Fiberglass and Steel options feature solid cores that resist kick-ins, reinforced strike plates, and multi-point locking systems. They provide the look of wood with the strength of a bank vault.
